                                                                           WILDFIRE

I, Rani Kannan, currently staying with my daughter, residing in Sunnyvale, CA, USA. Actually, I booked a return ticket to Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India during the first week of July but due to COVID-19 extended my stay.

For the past two weeks, it's very hot, 102F. Though, not much sweat, the Ultra Violet Rays are more powerful here and hence penetrates through the skin causing redness on the skin. I experienced a heat wave also. Though our house has got centralized Air conditioning, while we go to the front and back yard of the house, where trees and plants are there, I witnessed heatwave, to my surprise.

Whereas, in Chennai, India during summer, the temperature will be around 100 to 110 F,  will get lots of sweating but Ultra Violet Rays are not that powerful, when compared to the USA.

Sunday, I saw a huge cloud and told my daughter, it's going to rain. She said it's not a cloud but smoke. I was surprised. Then she told the news about Wildfire, and I collected a few news and reproduced here for ready reference, which is also self-explanatory.

It's pertinent to mention here that Government for the past two weeks taking all precautions to avoid fire due to heat. I myself witnessed, the public servants cutting/ trimming the trees on the roads and at houses. In spite of this, the wild fire had happened.

President Trump has declared this wildfire as a National Disaster. Imagine the intensity of it.

Not but not least: My reply tweet along with the NBC tweet which is self -explanatory:

Below three pictures captured by me in the three cuttings of the avenues where my daughter’s house is located.

Currently, Air Pollution is more in our place,  due to this wildfire. Generally, if air pollution is up to 100, it is good to go out  If it is 100 to 150, a healthy person, those are without BP and Diabetic can go out. Children, elderly person and persons with BP/Diabetic are advised not to go out if air pollution is more than100.

Thank God, we didn't receive any evacuation order.

Within a week the climate is completely changed. Today while posting this blog, the temperature at Sunnyvale where we are residing is only 70F. Air quality is moderate. this is nature, God’s creation.

Latest Developments:

Stay safe, Take care.
